My journey from Northern California to Arizona wasn't just about following a passion for design; it was about filling a gap I saw in outdoor living spaces. Too often, I noticed outdoor designs focused on singular elements without embracing the client's full vision. This realization sparked my mission: to create a studio where every client feels truly heard and their outdoor dreams fully realized.

Our goal? To transform your backyard into a personal retreat where memories are cherished and new stories begin. This is the heart of why I do what I do—designing not just for aesthetics but for the moments that will unfold in the spaces we create together.

At Backyard Oasis Design Studio, I'm all about bringing our amazing work to your screens in the coolest ways possible through our social media. My passion lies in not just presenting our work, but in telling the stories behind each unique project.
Whether it's a before and after transformation or a behind-the-scenes look at our design process, my goal is to make you feel a part of our creative journey, inspiring you to imagine the potential of your own outdoor spaces.
I am a freelance artist and spend a lot of my “down time” painting murals and making art.
I’m a sucker for reading trendy books. If you reccomend a book to me, I’ll probably read it.
I have two different colored eyes and always get compared to Huskies or Australian Shepards. (Which I don’t mind because obviously I love animals!)
I graduated with a BLA in Landscape Architecture from Iowa State University, where I learned everything I could about native plants and psychology in nature, helping to kick off my career in landscape architecture.
After spending 5 years in Arizona working on creative commercial projects like community parks and residential luxury homes, I was drawn back home to my native Iowa, where I now support Backyard Oasis with 3D design and modeling.

Traveling to a variety of unique places early in life is what originally drew me to the world of landscape design. I’m inspired by designers like Andrea Cochran, Dan Kiley, and Piet Oudolf, and I aspire to create designs that are as breathtaking as theirs.
I lived on the Virgin Islands for half a year teaching kids how to grow food sustainably.
I traveled while in college (all five years) to gain a deeper understanding of the major differences in landscape design between regions of the United States.
I have three rescue dogs named Ava, Poppy, and Maji, and a 20 ish-year-old tortoise named Gerald.
